This designer series paper (DSP) is more versatile than you might think. For example, you might want to use it with Dragonfly Dreams, which is one of the sets in the Occasions catalog that just caught my eye. It can be vintage, it can be fresh, it can be simple and it can work with so many techniques. And it has matching Thinlits.

Dragonfly Dreams Bundle with thank you card designed by Paula Cannon at www.vintageqndfresh.

This card is simple, no fancy techniques. I started with this beautiful blue page from the  Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack. Aged, swirls, Bermuda Bay. Lovely. I cut it as a large banner by measuring in at the center and cutting from the corners to the center point. I rarely glue things down until I have finalized my design because I’m usually moving pieces around. Good thing because I got to the point of being almost done and decided the banner needed an edge to stand out from the card front. So I lined the edge using the brush tip of my black marker. I opted for Soft Sky card stock for the card base for a little bit of contrast. I stamped the card front with Timeless Texture, also in Soft Sky, for a little bit of texture.

Using the DSP color palette I decided to die-cut a single dragonfly in Calypso Coral card stock using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Since I was playing, I stamped the dragonfly stamp with the coral ink before I cut it. I tried the dragonfly stamp in Peekaboo Peach ink on white and liked the look when I layered them. So far this card was coming together pretty easily. It needed an accent but I just couldn’t decide. Then I remembered I had some old brads from several years ago when Calypso Coral was introduced as an In Color. Voila! I love it when a plan comes together. What do you think?
