Friends who don’t let friends stamp or wine alone

A few weeks ago I spent a fun Saturday stamping with friends. I love getting together with these ladies. I’ve gotten to know them through Stampin’ Up! because we are all in the same demonstrator group. One of the many benefits I’ve enjoyed as a demo. We share ideas, we share our adventures, our joys and problems, but mostly we laugh and have a lot of fun!

For this get-together we had two swaps planned and lunch. In addition we usually have one Make & Take project. As one of the co-hosts for this event, I volunteered to design this one. Since we were also having a surprise “stock the bar” wedding shower for Diana, I had to use the Mixed Drinks stamp set. Right?

We usually keep the Make & Take fairly simple. I knew I wanted to use the friends don’t let friends wine alone saying. Once it occurred to me to use the Delicate Details stamps (from the Sale-a-Bration catalog) as a sort of tablecloth image, the design fell right into place.

Tip: One of the nice things about photopolymer stamps is that you can put them together on one block. I lined up these two stamps so they were even. Then just ink it up and stamp.

Rose Red and So Saffron seemed like the perfect colors (and combination) for red and white wines. Since the card is meant to convey a fun time, I wanted the glasses to tilt a little. A straight line would be too formal for this design. Add the greeting and there you are.

I painted over the red wine with Clear Wink of Stella and used the Gold wink of Stella to paint over the white wine glasses, just to give the card a little shimmer. But it still needed a some bling. So, I pulled a few sequins off the sequin trim ribbon… and that was just enough to add the needed sparkle!

Another nice thing about this design and this set is that there are three different greetings that would work: friends don’t let friends wine alone, every hour with you is a happy one, and here’s to you and your amazingness. All great greetings! (seriously, you need to order this set today!)

If you would be interested in joining the fun, I welcome you to my group. Anytime! However, Sale-a-Bration is a great time to join. In addition to the $99 Starter Kit (with free shipping) you can choose two additional stamp sets to add on at no cost – any set at any price! Now that’s a deal. (okay, it does exclude Sale-a-bration sets and bundles, but its still a great deal!) I’m happy to answer your questions.
