Organizing your Love Today Planner Kit

June 16, 2017|Posted in: Creativity, DIY

Have you seen the Love Today Planner Kit in the new catalog? It’s in the kits section, and since offering a planner is new you may have missed it. You can find it on pages 12 and 13. I recently got mine and got it organized. I like it! Over the years I have used a variety of planners, mainly for work. At home I generally rely on a calendar and a notebook for my to-do lists. I’ve tried digital lists, too, but I just like paper. I love that this planner has all the basics in place, but still offers so many creative and organizational possibilities.

Here are the parts and ideas for how you might want to organize and use your planner.

This is everything that comes in the planner kit: the Night of Navy gold foil binder, 12 monthly divider pages, calendar pages, page lifter, sticker sheets, sticky notes, photo protector pages, and two pockets. The binder size is 7-3/4″ x 8-3/4″. It all comes packed up in a nice little box. I suggest you pull everything out and organize the various pages, before you pull some of this and some of that to take blog photos!

The divider pages are nice and thick with a smooth coating and pre-tabbed with each month. Each page has a different design.

Here are the monthly view pages and the weekly view pages. The pages are blank so you can be as creative or as practical as you want to be. As you can see, there is plenty of space to write in your planner pages. You may have lots of to-do items; you might want to do some journaling; you might want to decorate your pages. There’s so much versatility.

Note that the weekly pages begin with Mondays. As you install each month, you’ll want to begin these pages with the first Monday of the month. For example, July 1st falls on a Saturday this year. My July weekly pages begin with Monday, July 3rd. The 1st and 2nd are in the last week of June.

To begin each month, you’ll have an organizer or notes page with several sections. Here’s where you can adapt the planner based on how you organize your days. I plan to use one section for personal reminders and appointments for the month, one section for Stampin’ Up! reminders and events, and after that I’m not sure! Birthdays for the month would be good to note. I’ve been using a rather drab system lately, so I’ll be playing around and trying a few things to see what works for me. You’ll also see the page lifter (or bookmark) to keep you in the right spot, plus the two pockets for notes, receipts, ticket stubs, whatever. You can easily make more pockets with card stock or designer series paper if you need them.

And then we have stickers! Three pages of gold metallic stickers and three pages of printed stickers. I know a lot of people use their planners as a creative outlet, as well as an organizer. If that’s you, you’ll love the stickers. You might want to buy the new washi tapes, too. But I’m new to this. My planners have always been utilitarian. This is a new adventure for me. So far I have a big gold asterisk on July 4th. Baby steps!

Also included in the kit are four photo protector pages. You can keep photos for fun, or maybe incorporate a little memory keeping in your planner/journal/diary. Notes and receipts might be another option. Or perhaps a place for motivational quotes.  There are three small sticky note pads, too.

So you can see there’s something for every one and every style with this planner kit. I confess I am trying to keep it clean so I can show it to my guests at my open house next week. Then I look forward to getting all my dates and notes – and stickers – in place. It’s going to be a fun journey. Get your Love Today Planner Kit today and start your own fun journey.
