How do you like the new 2017 In Colors? I think they’re wonderful! Here are the colors if you haven’t seen them.

These 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbons are so nice to work with, and aren’t the In Color Bitty Bows cute? The colors are (from the top): Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide. They work really well together, and while I haven’t played too much, they seem to work well with other colors, too.

So far, Lemon Lime Twist is my favorite. (I love it with Bermuda Bay.) But Berry Burst is a quick second. I’m not a pink girl, but I think it has a more purple cast to it. And it’s great with Lemon Lime Twist.

Here’s a card I made with the new stamp set, Crafting Forever, and all five of the new 2017 In Colors. The designer series paper is called Fresh Florals. If it looks familiar, it’s four designs from last year’s Floral Boutique paper (the navy and white DSP). It gives you a nice variety of floral and patterns in all the new colors.

I cut the DSP strips at 7/8″ by 3-7/8″. I think. I started at 1″ by 4″ with a white card base, but then trimmed everything a bit when I decided to go with the Smoky Slate. You know how that works!

The stamp set is the new Crafting Forever. I stamped the pens in Archival Basic Black ink and colored them with the In Color Stampin’ Write Markers, plus Smoky Slate which is also the card base. I also used the Smoky Slate marker to edge the white card stock. Just that little bit of edge is enough to help the piece stand out from the background.

For accents I used the Glitter Enamel Dots. If those have caught your eye in the catalog, you will notice that the only In Color is Berry Burst. That’s the color of the big, dark dot. What’s fun about these, besides the glitter, is that the colors fade. So I can use the very light Old Olive and Dapper Denim dots and they still work. One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the color coordination, but don’t be afraid to try mixing and matching.

If you’ve been reading along, you know that I am celebrating my 15th Anniversary as a demonstrator this year. (click here if you missed that post.) I may have missed some blog posts the past few months, but I am still doing my monthly drawing. This month I am giving away the Crafting Forever stamp set. For every $15 you order from me in June, you get an entry for the drawing. So visit my store and place an order!

Visit my Events page, too. If you are in the Kansas City area, I invite you to attend my Open House on June 23rd and 24th. Come see my studio and be inspired with new samples and ideas. And see all the new 2017 In Colors, live and in person!
