Hey, Chick! It’s time for a Sale-a-Bration.

Hey, Chick is just one of those stamps sets you want. It’s not about liking chickens. It’s about how cute and funny and silly and crazy and adorable they are. It’s one of this year’s Sale-a-Bration sets from Stampin’ Up! One of the most popular, actually. If you are new to Sale-a-Bration, it’s our annual sale. Any time you place an order of at least $50 you earn a free product from the “SAB” catalog. It runs through March 31st.

For this card I used our watercolor paper, ink pads and an aqua painter. Watercolor paper is very forgiving and my favorite when using aqua painters. I laid down the Delightful Dijon first and kept it fairly wet, so when I added dots of Cajun Craze it runs just a bit. Same thing for the colors running together on the wing. The aqua painters have fine points, so painting the detail portions of the image is easy. After the chick dried I cut it and the mat with the Layering Circles Framelits.

Tip: To apply color, hold the closed ink pad in both hands and smoosh down the lid  with your thumbs. That presses the ink pad to the lid. When you open it you will have an ink palette on the lid. Push the aqua painter slightly until the water flows into the tip, and begin painting. It’s that easy. Keep a rag or paper towel handy to clean the aqua painter before changing colors.

I used another Sale-a-Bration set for the edge, Delicate Details. I’ve already used it several times. It pairs well with a lot of stamps. Add some ribbon, a background of Cherry Cobbler and voila! So, hey, chick, visit my online store and get your Hey, Chick set with a $50 order.
