Well. A short break for a few weeks turned into a long break of a few months away. Where does the time go? I just started introducing new Annual Catalog stamps! Now I’m back today with a card using one of my favorite sets from the new Holiday Catalog, Half Full.

Yes, I like wine, so the images appealed to me. But I also like the fact that this set can be used throughout the year. This card is an example.

Card using Half Full stamp set from Stampin' Up! designed by Paula Cannon for VintageandFresh.com. Use markers and washi tape for an all-occasion card.

This card could be used for any number of occasions: a birthday toast, congratulations, or even for a message to cheer-up someone feeling down. And its pretty easy to put together.

My starting point for color was our washi tape packs. This year, in the annual catalog, our washi tapes are offered in color-theme packages: black and white, pinks and purples, greens and yellows, and blues. I designed this card for a shoebox swap and thought it would be fun to let everyone play and choose their washi tape colors. I decided to go with lighter colors and let the “liquids” in the glasses be fun. Just because the Half Full set features wine bottles and wine glasses doesn’t mean it can only be colored with reds and whites. These are the Stampin’ Write  Markers used: lemon lime twist, sweet sugarplum, soft sky, peekaboo peach, daffodil yellow, and blushing bride.

Use markers and washi tape to turn a simple design into a polished card. Card uses Half Full stamp set Stampin' Up!

While washi tape is a fun embellishment, the black and white twine adds a finishing touch and keeps a simple card from looking plain. Same thing for the background. While the design is clean and simple, stepping it up a notch with an embossed background adds a polished touch. I chose the Sparkle embossing folder. This is one of my go-to folders as it seems to work for a variety of styles. In this case it adds a little sparkle to the half full glasses.

Cheers to you! May your glass always be half full.
