Country Home: vintage style that’s on trend
The Country Home stamp set is one of my favorites from the Holiday catalog. It’s not exactly vintage and its not exactly rustic, but it is definitely on trend. It seems that every store I go into these days has milk cans and cotton plants!
I’ve made lots of cards with this set and this is one of my favorites.
With a tall image like this you can change up a basic layout with a simple square mat that doesn’t frame the focal image. For this card I used the coordinating Country Lane Designer Series Paper. I also used the DSP to inspire the colors in my foliage. For the milk can, I stayed on trend and kept it traditional with the smoky slate gray.

A Fresh Fruit Pear for a Classic Card
The Fresh Fruit stamp set is on the new Stampin’ Up! retired list.* I am sorry to see it go. It’s cute and fun and fresh. And I’m not sure why, but I think a pear image is a good stamp image. Maybe because it can fit any season or because it can be used in a vintage or a fresh style. I’ve made several cards using this Fresh Fruit pear image and I thought I’d share one of my favorites.
It’s a pretty easy card to make. I started with a card base of our Whisper White Thick card stock. The card front is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Soft Suede card stock. I cut three 1″ x 4-1/2″ strips of Fruit Stand designer series paper and centered them on the card front.

Presto Chango
Earlier this month I attended On Stage, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator event. One of the fun things to do at these events is to swap. Since I didn’t make a lot of time for my swaps, I pulled a few of my cards and made new versions. Here is a card from a class I held last spring. I love the Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss color combo, with the dash of Delightful Dijon.
However, some of the elements for this card are retired, so I played around with some new elements and … Presto Chango … same card with new color combo!
