A Simple Thank You Card
Recently, I borrowed my friend’s Harvest Hellos stamp set and Apple Builder Punch. Its a bundle I almost bought when it premiered in a Holiday catalog, then it carried over to the Annual catalog…and I still haven’t gotten it. So thank you, Julie.
I used the stamps and punch for one of my October Monthly Stamp Class projects, which you can see on my Instagram account.
Those cards were made by stamping the apple or the pumpkin on paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Collection. Stamping on DSP is a simple thing we often forget about, but it can be a great alternative to coloring. While scrolling through Pinterest, I saw the apple stamp punched from the plaid of the Toile Tiding DSP (by Patty Bennett).
Love the plaid, so I borrowed that idea and made this simple thank you card.
But I didn’t stop there! I stamped a red toile apple from the same DSP, another from the Ornate Garden DSP, and a green apple from the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP.

An Old Fashioned Card Using Whiskey Business
As you can see from the card photo, my blog title is a play on words as the card sentiment is “sending you an old-fashioned birthday card.” But I think the design of this card, using the Whiskey Business stamp set, is rather old-fashioned.
There was a time when everyone used black mats for all their images. I didn’t do that a lot because it often struck me as being too heavy for a lot of images. However, I think it works perfectly for this card. It helps with the linear design and works with the dark background and over all tone.
Actually, this card just evokes an old-fashioned sensibility to me. I love historical fiction (books and movies) and I can imagine the men withdrawing from dinner to have cigars and whiskey. Then again, maybe its just the wood paneled background!

Simple Stamping with Forever Ferns
Today I have a simple stamping card to share, using the Forever Ferns stamp set. At my new catalog open house earlier this summer, one of the Make & Take cards featured this new set and it was a hit. So what better way to say Thank You to my guests than to mail them a Forever Ferns #simplestamping card?
