A Frosty Cardinal Card from Toile Christmas
December 27, 2019|Posted in: Creativity
I hope you all had a fun holiday celebration. I have one last card using a Holiday Catalog set before it ends. I’m using the Toile Christmas stamp set, which features a beautiful cardinal image. But its not just for Christmas! This card features a frosty cardinal that is a lovely card for any winter occasion, such as thank you or birthdays, or even a get well card.
This is actually a simple card to make.
Stamp the cardinal in Memento Black ink and color with Real Red Stampin’ Blends. (see how in this post). Stamp the branch and color with Old Olive, Real Red and Soft Suede Blends.
After die-cutting and coloring the branch, use the fine-tip glue pen to add some Dazling Diamonds glitter. Okay, so maybe the cardinal, himself, isn’t frosty, but the glitter gives that look to the card.
To add to the frosty effect, I used the Swirls & Curls embossing folder for the card background. I think it looks like swirling wind gusts. For the card base and background I used Seaside Spray card stock.
The Toile Christmas set will carry over. To see what sets are retiring from the Holiday catalog, be sure to visit my online store by January 2nd (the last day to order from the Holiday catalog).
