Be Mine with Bloomin’ Hearts

The Bloomin’ Love stamp set and Bloomin’ Heart Thinlets make such beautiful cards. I’ve seen cards ranging from very clean and simple, to very layered and complex. There are a few steps for my card, but I think it’s still fairly easy to make.
The card base is Watermelon Wonder with a few of the tiny outline hearts stamped around the edge. The mat is Tip Top Taupe because I wanted to use the Tip Top Taupe ribbon (and see if I could write Tip Top Taupe three times in one sentence.) I added a little vintage texture with the grid stamp from Timeless Texture and very lightly sponged the edges. I also added just a bit of ink on the white heart by lightly tapping the sponge over it.
When using these detailed Thinlits, you’ll have better results if you use the Precision Base Plate with your Big Shot. Even with that, for a larger die, like this heart, I add a piece of wax paper between the card stock and the die. After cutting use the Die Brush to clean up all the cut-outs.
Here’s another Tip: The small flowers layered onto the heart are much easier to cut when you match up the tips, as you can see here:
Notice the pointed top on the stamp. Stamp your flower with the pointed top up. There is a matching top on the flower die. (reminds me of a pumpkin stem). When you place the die over the image with the top guide up – you have a perfect match! In other words, match the Tip Tops.
My first inclination was to add pearls to the flowers, but I tried the silver dots from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and I like the shine. The last piece was the banner. I edged the banner piece with the Watermelon Wonder Marker. It’s something I do a lot because it gives it a more distinct edge.
What do you think? Not too hard, right? And the Bloomin’ Heart is just beautiful!
