A Wonderfully Wicked Bat Card

The Wonderfully Wicked bundle in the Holiday catalog is perfect for a black and white card. This one features the bat image.
This is an easy card to make. First, I cut the “wicked” from the Wicked Dies in Basic Black card stock. I laid it on my white card stock, in the center. Then I used my Memento Black ink to randomly stamp the bats flying across the card front. I didn’t want bats under my wicked die-cut, but just one or two slightly behind it. Putting the die where I wanted it, but not gluing it in place yet, let me better position those random bats.
To soften the edge (or make it spooky?) I swiped the edges of the white card stock across my black ink pad. Just enough so the edge is not a crisp white edge.
Even though I wanted to keep it simple, it still need something. My solution was the splattered background. I put a few drops of basic black ink refill on one of my clear blocks, added some water with my aqua painter to thin it a bit, then tapped the aqua painter over my finger to splatter ink. It’s an easy and fun technique. Be sure to clear off things and work in an open space, though, because the ink can easily splatter farther away than you expect!
One of my favorite products is the glittered organdy ribbon. It was in last year’s holiday catalog and carried over, so you can find it in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. I think it’s one of those ribbons you should just have in your stash, because you never know when you will need it (need it) for a project.
I needed it for this card, so it would add just a touch of sparkle. And for one more touch, a rhinestone to dot the “I”.
Are you ready for a wonderfully wicked Halloween?
