Simple Stamping with Forever Ferns

August 22, 2020|Posted in: Creativity

Today I have a simple stamping card to share, using the Forever Ferns stamp set. At my new catalog open house earlier this summer, one of the Make & Take cards featured this new set and it was a hit. So what better way to say Thank You to my guests than to mail them a Forever Ferns #simplestamping card?

I originally started with a larger piece of Whisper White cardstock, but there was too much white space after stamping, so I trimmed it down. This piece measures 3-1/4″ x 5″. I stamped the same fern image four times in Mint Macaron, working around in a sort of half-circle pattern. Then I used the splatter image around the leaves, stamped in Crumb Cake ink. I sponged the edges with Mint Macaron, too.

To keep the design simple and the focus on the stamped images, I selected a wood pattern from the In Good Taste designer series paper. It measures 1″ x 5-1/2″ and is glued to the very bottom of the card front, as a sort of base.

The Thank You greeting is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I really like the font used on these greetings! I stamped it in Early Espresso and punched it out using the Timeless Label punch. To keep things simple I just edged the punched greeting with my Early Espresso marker to define the shape. It’s attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals, strategically placed to cover the four leaf stems!

One of the things I love about this set is its versatility, You can make a lovely simple stamping card, or you can use lots of layers and lots of embellishments to make a “wow” card. Or anything in between! If you missed last week’s post, it’s another Forever Fern card. And I’ve been posting a few more Forever Fern cards on my Facebook and Instagram pages. Check ’em out!
