More Watercolor Fun with Gather Together
Sometimes I think I could spend days playing with watercolor and my Gather Together stamp set. Not only are the leaves fun to color, but the pumpkins are, too! Especially if you go beyond orange and venture into other gourd colors.
The pumpkins on this card are all orange, though. Colored with Pumpkin Pie, naturally. Ah, but the leaves. I’ve had so much fun playing with different ink colors and my trusty aqua painter. These leaves started with a little Crushed Curry and Old Olive, then a tiny bit of Pumpkin Pie, but I wanted them to be more red and I tried Merry Merlot. I like the result, and the orange of the pumpkin plays well with it.
I had a vague thought of two or three leaves (more…)

Watercolor Fun for Brilliant Autumn Leaves
Recently I shared a card using the big leaf from the Gather Together stamp set that I had colored with watercolor pencils. (see it here) However, my favorite way to color autumn leaves is with watercolor.
One reason is the colors blend and wash together, just as the colors do on real leaves as they change. Also because its just fun to play with watercolor.

A Wonderfully Wicked Gothic Bats Card
The Wonderfully Wicked stamp set isn’t particularly scary…until the bats summon Nosferatu.
I wanted to try using the Stained Glass dies for a Halloween card. Since they have that gothic appeal, castles come to mind, which at Halloween time makes me think of vampire movies. Scary movies are not my thing, but the 1979 movie Nosferatu the Vampyre is scary and creepy and artistically fascinating. At one point he enters a victim’s room by flying into her room (in a castle, of course) as a bat. So now you have my set up!

A Vintage Card with Watercolor Pencils
My watercolor pencils solved a problem I didn’t even know I had when I started making this card! After I bought the Gather Together stamp set, I knew I wanted to use it with the script image from Very Versailles. As I started playing with the images, I realized I wanted a translucent color for my leaf. And I wanted to stamp everything for this card and not use a die-cut leaf.
That’s what I had in my head, so that’s what I tried to do. And I think the watercolor pencils created the look I imagined.
