Make an Easy Triple Panel Fun Fold Card

This is a really simple fun fold card. I’m sure it has a name, but I have no idea what it is, so I am calling it a Triple Panel Card because the card front has three panels.
I made this card using the World of Good Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful World bundle. I really like the blue and brown color combination. My plan was to just make a sample card for this fun fold, but I may keep it for my husband’s birthday card.
The finished card is the standard 4-1/4’ x 5-1/2” size. However, the card base is larger than normal.
- Cut the cardstock for your card at 5-1/2″ x 11″.
- Score it, beginning from the left edge, at 1-1/4″, then at 4″, then at 6-3/4″.
Select some coordinating DSP. You can use two or three patterns.
- The DSP for the back of the card measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.
- Cut the middle panel at 2-1/2” x 5-1/4”
- Cut two pieces for both sides of the front panel at 1” x 5-1/4”
You’ll also need white or vanilla cardstock measuring 2-1/2” x 5-1/4” for your greeting.
Once you have all your pieces cut, glue your DSP sections in place. The 1″ pieces go on both the front and back of the first panel. Now you can make your focal point.
For my card, I stamped the Americas’ globe on Whisper White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink. I lightly sponged over it with Crumb Cake ink. The globe base is stamped in Soft Suede. Both were cut using the World Map dies. They are glued on a mat of Crumb Cake cardstock, cut with the Stitched Nested Labels dies. I added two Misty Moonlight enamel dots, as well.
Don’t forget – when you glue your focal point piece to your card, you are glueing it to a fold. Only apply glue to the back of the left side!
I think this is a fairly easy fun fold card to make. And since it will stand on its own, think of how much fun the recipient will have! Do you like making fun fold cards?
