A Fable Friends Bunny Birthday Card

This sweet bunny from Fable Friends is perfect for Easter projects. Really, he’s just adorable. But he’s not just for Easter. I think this card would be perfect for a birthday.
The card came about by accident. I had stamped the bunny on Whisper White card stock and used the Detailed Trio punch for the corners, but the size wasn’t right. He we just floating in all that white space. So I cut him out with an oval die and used him on another card. The Layering Oval Framelits are great to use with the Fable Friends stamp set because all of the cute animals fit inside on one layer or another.
Later, when cleaning up, I thought surely I could do something with that white piece with the corner punches. Luckily my little bunny friend fits in a smaller oval die so I stamped on a smaller piece of white, cut him out and layered Rich Razzleberry card stock underneath. The dark color really shows off the corner punch and frames my bunny.
I picked the Rich Razzleberry after looking through my designer series papers to find a good background for the card. These flowers from the Share What You Love DSP seemed perfect. And I like the darker color. Not all spring cards need to be pastel and not all Fable Friends stamps need to be for spring, so I think the darker color would work any time of the year.

The bunny image was stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends. Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the bunny and Rich Razzleberry for his jacket. I added a single strip of the Rich Razzleberry velvet ribbon, and popped the white/razzleberry piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I encourage you to take another look at the Fable Friends set in the Occasions catalog. It’s great for Easter, Spring and Baby cards, but it’s certainly not limited to those! And, it will carryover to the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, so you will be able to buy it any time of the year.
