A Classic Design Using Posted for You

The Posted for You Bundle is another one of my Annual Catalog favorites. For some reason I have always been drawn to postal images and shapes. Maybe they’re just fun to create with… I don’t know.
This card, however, is not screaming creativity! Instead its a classic design: three in a row. This one is always a good layout for smaller images. And you can mix it up with staggered images or diagonal images. It doesn’t have to be three items in a single row. (see my butterfly card) Although, my card is not just three images in a single row, but the same image repeated three times! Not exactly groundbreaking but I think its a really nice card that any one could make or copy.
I had already decided on my color scheme using the new In Colors of Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider (love them both!). I selected the bird image from Posted for You, and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock with Memento ink. Then I colored one with blue birds, one with yellow birds and one with a bird in each color, using Stampin’ Write Markers.
They are punched out with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. (The bundle is the Posted for You stamp set paired with this punch, and you’ll save 10% when you buy them as a bundle.)
Using the In Color 6″ x 6″ designer series papers, I picked the woodgrain pattern since I had birds on trees for my image. The punched shape is 2″ tall, but I cut the DSP at 2-3/4″ to allow room for my ribbon. It’s the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. The color ties in but it also adds another pattern for interest.
To step it up a notch, I added a background layer of subtle texture by embossing some Bumblebee cardstock with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder. As I say, its a subtle add, and you wouldn’t absolutely need it!
I think this would be a cute card for a thank you, or just-a-note card, as well as a get well or birthday card. I love when you can use one set for multiple occasions. What do you think?
