Daisy Delight card in Seaside Spray on Tin Tile background

The 2019 In Colors: Seaside Spray

July 19, 2019|Posted in: Creativity

Soft, serene, Seaside Spray. When I first saw the new In Colors, I thought this pale blue was light and drab. Then I used it, just once, and fell in love. Now I think it’s light and beautiful! It pairs well with light colors, as in today’s card, but works with darker colors, too.

Seaside Spray card featuring two daisies

I thought some light blue daisies in Seaside Spray would be pretty, so I got out my Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy punch. Then I played around with some design ideas and choose this look. I really wanted to use Soft Sea Foam with the Seaside Spray. They look so nice together.

The daisies look fuller when two are punched and layered, as I did here. The center accents are the new Designer Elements. They have an antique look with an adhesive backing, so they are easy to use; and the package contains three finishes: copper, gold and silver. I just got them and I love them!

For the leaves, I stamped the solid image in Soft Sea Foam and the outline image in Seaside Spray, then fussy cut them. (not one of my favorite things to do)

As I mentioned, I really like theses two colors together, so I used the Stitched Nested Labels dies to cut a mat for the daisies. That was my way to add the green. I considered stamping the little daisy image on the card front to create a background, but decided to emboss it instead. Another favorite, the Tin Tile embossing folder.

This card is not at all what I had planned when I started, but I am really pleased with how it turned out. Sometimes that’s just how creativity works. Now, what do you think of my new favorite blue, the lovely Seaside Spray?
