A Simple, Stunning Card with Good Morning Magnolia

This is a simple card to make, but with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set you will get stunning results. Stamp, add a little color with Stampin’ Blends, use a simple white card with a strip of designer series paper, and there you are!
I made this card as one of the Make & Take projects at my Stamp-o-rama (open house) earlier this month. I wanted to show off this beautiful flower, but my goal for all the projects was to keep them simple. Or at least not complicated.
All of the papers in the Magnolia Lane designer series paper package are beautiful, in my opinion. I’m not sure I would have thought to put together black, mellow moss and petal pink, but it works! And I love the inspiration Stampin’ Up! gives us with these paper designs.
In keeping with my design goals, I decided to keep the color simple on this card. I selected this mellow moss leaf pattern for a simple edge to the card, and a white card base to keep the focus on the flower. The coloring is done with Stampin’ Blends. Just for fun, I tucked the stem of the flower under the paper edge. It gives the illusion that the whole flower is poking out from the leaf border.
There are several sentiments in the stamp set. I picked Thinking of You for my card, but at the open house my customers could select any from the set.
If you like a little bling, you could step it up with ribbon (tied vertically over the DSP), a little Wink of Stella painted over the bloom, a label punch or die shape for the sentiment, or even just the addition of a few pearls or gems scattered around. For this card, though, I think my simple version is stunning on its own. What do you think?
