A Butterfly Trio Card Design

The Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet punch will carry over into the new 2019-2020 catalog. Hooray! It’s always good to have some butterfly stamps in your collection because they are good for any number of occasions.
One of the sheets in the Needlepoint Nook designer series paper is covered with embroidered butterflies, so I thought it would be fun to pair that paper with a butterfly stamp. To keep it from being too busy, I used a simple trio pattern card design.
I stamped with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral to color in my Night of Navy butterflies. Its so easy to do two colors with this stamp set because there are stamps just for the top and the bottom sections of the wings. Plus, each butterfly pattern has two images: a smaller and a larger butterfly. They are also positioned to fit perfectly in the punch. Brilliant!
I layered the butterfly DSP on a Night of Navy mat with a very thin border. I wrapped that with a simple ribbon and knot before adhering to the Petal Pink card stock. The butterflies are attached with stampin’ dimensionals to make them fly above the card. Notice too, that they aren’t lined up evenly. That’s more like nature.
For the last little detail, I added Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons to embellish each butterfly. I love these mini buttons!
